First Drop in the Glass

I never thought I would take up this narrative again, but here I am typing away at the keyboard. I guess being on holiday means I have nothing to do now, although such freedom will only last another week before my next semester starts in uni. Then its back to the grind for me, with assignments to finish and exams to study for…

The funny thing was, during that “rush period” of getting things done and well, generally being busy, I was thinking how nice it would be to have some free time to just do whatever I wanted. Whether its working out, playing games, hanging out with friends, or heck, staring at the ceiling.

Unfortunately enough I’ve long finished Call of Duty 4 which I borrowed from Molotov, so there’s nothing else shaking back home. My workouts are increasingly getting harder, though it pains me to hear myself being categorised as “skinny”. It I had known any better, I would have just followed Scooby to Ulu Yam yesterday night.

Its morning at this point of time, and I still cant get over the fact that Spray just contacted me yesterday for a favour. After all that “has happened”, he still has the gall to call me. Even if that wasnt bad enough, he only called to ask for a lift to our company’s annual dinner. I doubt I’d get anything in return of course. Although friends dont usually count on such things as getting something in return for favours, Spray really cant be considered a friend, being how selfish he sometimes is. Besides, he’s sort of like Public Enemy No 1, and helping him would be much more of a hassle. So now I’m wondering how things will go the next day when work starts and if he were to approach me – imagine how awkward it will be.

Talking about helping others, Scooby and I did have a “discussion” on that issue. Most people “help” others, often for something in return. Whether its because they expect favours or “I-owe-you”s, or whether its a heaven or hell issue. You know, do good things and you’ll ascend to heaven, being bad will earn you a ticket to hell. Cant be considered sincere dont you think?

But yeah, some do help people just because it makes them feel good. I cant explain what that exactly means, but yeah its a feeling I do have from time to time. That feeling has increased recently. So that explains why I find myself going out of the way just to please some people. Scooby actually suggested hat he did have an idea of doing some charity work, although he didnt see it through because, it would have been kinda weird doing it alone. Besides, he doesnt know any nearby. Funnily enough, it was a thought that has crossed my mind some time or the oher.

If he means it, I ought to test him. But I’ll skip the orphanages first, which was first on Scooby’s mind. Think I’d rather try the SPCA. Anyone with an address?
